One of our ODC firewall servers crashed today. None of our labs were accessible granting us half day off. It was really great to come home in the afternoon, go out with our group for a great lunch and then for bowling after that. I really enjoyed the day and the evening was equally productive in the personal front; could catch up a lot of study and so on. It almost felt like college days when we used to come home around 4 PM, roam around, lie in the room and listen to songs, or talk to friends.
I think a half a day job would make me more happy, healthy and knowledgeable. In the current job, I work till evening then catch up with the remote counterparts and then come home around 8 or 9 PM; sometimes at 11 PM or so :( So the whole day is gone, leaving no time and energy for some play and study. I wish I have a half a day job :)
