Caller-tune grievance

Most cell phone service providers in India are offering the facility of choosing a caller tune on paying a premium on the rent/charges. It actually feels good to hear a nice song or a good music on calling somebody. But one thing that is annoying is the 15 to 20 seconds message being added by the service providers before the caller tune starts to play. Not sure if they are even allowed to do advertise their service as part of the service itself.
Think about it, we pay for the caller tune and they just like that take 20 seconds of it to promote the caller tune facility itself to the other subscribers, which is totally ridiculous. It is acceptable to have two different caller tune plans, one which is cheaper and will have this promotional tone coming up in the beginning and the other which is of premium type that would start playing immediately without any interference by the service provider.

I don’t think any mobile service provider has such plans that explicitly state the right to play the promotional tone in the beginning of the caller tune, even though all the providers play this promotional tone without fail. This is a very small thing when seen from a single subscriber point of view, but think about the amount of advertising time that the service provider gains in aggregate! Hope consumer India soon gets the power to screw the cheating businesses and business norms.
